I would be remise if I did not provide the Maine vacation house information, should you and your family be interested in spending a week or more in this idyllic spot. The Armstrong’s, the home builder and owner, were wonderful hosts (they live a stones throw away and were always available to lend a hand - even during their family dinner when we could not get the motor boat started!)

The house has no cable tv and no internet connection (although a neighbor has a wireless network that you may be able to hop on to when lounging lakeside - they did not mind - but we were not always able to get a strong enough signal). If this is concern, you can find an internet cafe a few miles away (discussed in recap part 2).
