The Flight to Paris

Bonjour! OWTK is alive and well in Paris! The hotel had some connectivity issues, so this first post was delayed. I sit in Gare de Lyon, ready to board the TGV train to Avignon. The flight over was smooth and uneventful, minus the fact that we took off 45 minutes late and spent that entire delay sitting on the runway. Our girl slept for about 5 hours of the 6.5 hour flight. The hotel (more later) was able to check us into our room upon our early, 10am arrival. We then added roughly 4 more hours of sleep and woke up in great spirits. Here is a bit about our transportation from CDG (Charles de Gaulle) Airport to Paris City Centre/Hilton Arc de Triomphe:

There are numerous methods of transportation from CDG to downtown Paris - taxi, shuttle bus, train, Air France (public) coaches. We opted for Aiport Connection, a private door-to-door shuttle bus service linking all three Paris area airports with the city. Thinking that the little one may be extremely sleepy and/or cranky after the flight, we paid extra and reserved a private shuttle bus just for the three of us (not wanting to upset any business travelers, locals, or other families with our potentionally miserable two and a half year old). While our daughter was quite pleasant during the ride, we still enjoyed having the private shuttle. This shuttle took us directly from the Airport to our hotel - the Hilton Arc de Triomphe - in about 40 minutes. The service was prompt, courteous, and the experience was quite pleasant. A nice smooth start to our two week sojourn.
