Paris to Provence aboard the TGV
(Our train is the 6615 at 2:20pm to Marseille)
After our late, 1pm, check out we took a taxi to Gare de Lyon. From there we would catch our train to Avignon on the TGV.
We picked up lunch in Gare de Lyon before boarding. I was excited about this tip for many reasons, one of which was a baguette sandwich in the train station. A simple thing, really, just jambon (ham) with dijon mustard on a fresh baguette. Oh my! It was exactly how I remembered it from our first and only other trip overseas more than three years ago. Our daughter enjoyed it as much as I did - I am just now realizing that I should have taken a picture of it (must remember that on the way back to Paris!). Anyhow, the train ride was excellent. Riding the TGV truly is a lovely experience. It also helps when the thing is nearly empty and we had a group of seats facing each other with a table in the middle allowing us to easily eat our lunch, and play games. The little one fell asleep about an hour into the 2.5 hour trip to Avignon.

Tres Magnifique!
It looks so lovely. I have never been to France.
It sounds like you are all doing so well. Be sure to take pictures of the sandwich (sammy in the Madarasz house) and maybe I will invite you over for a scrapbooking party when you return!
