Our Paris Apartment

Situated in a neighborhood-y section of the 6th arondissment, between Saint Germain de Pres and the Latin Quarter and less than one full block from the southwest entrance to the famous Luxembourg Gardens, our Paris apartment could not really have been any more idyllic and perfect for us. We were within three blocks of several metro lines, walking distance to numerous bistros, brasseries, the renowned gelato shop Amarino (amazing!), and a couple fine boulangaries for our daily baguette and croissant fix. I must also add that the good folks at Vacation in Paris (a U.S. based outfit that rents apartments all over Paris) were tremendous to work with throughout the process. They were also available via the phone and email, responded promptly and profressionally, and provided all the needed apartment details and documents well in advance of our departure. Just perfect!

The two bedroom apartment features one room with two twin beds and a master bedroom with a queen. All the beds are extremely soft and comfy. There is air conditioning (for those hot Parisian summers) and a lift (5th floor apartment) which is both extremely rare and much desired when traveling with luggage!

We were greeted by a nice young lady who showed us around the place, told us how things like the washer/dryer (all one unit!), the dishwasher, phone, etc. work and walked us around the neighborhood pointing our the best places for pizza, bread, dinner, the metro stops, etc.

The place has floor to ceiling windows in the family room and master bedroom letting in plenty of sunlight and air. The view, while not looking out on anything famous or particularly senic, is still wonderful on a sunny day.

The kitchen is small, which made cooking a full meal rather difficult. Check in and check out was very simple and smooth. A great apartment!

We stayed in the rue Vavin apartment in Sept of '06. Wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. It was a great location and a wonderful apartment.
